Everyone wants a toned look with a quicker surgery and less recovery time. For the right candidate, I am able to achieve these goals and craft a smooth, sculpted belly with this procedure.
– Dr. Frank Campanile
Although a full tummy tuck is an excellent option for dramatically improving the contours of the belly and waistline, not every one of our Denver patients needs that level of correction. In some cases, a mini tummy tuck is more than enough to improve the profile while using a smaller incision and benefitting from a faster recovery time.
Request a consultation today or call our office at 303-345-7476 to meet with Dr. Frank Campanile in person. His refined mini tummy tuck technique and detailed understanding of aesthetics allow him to provide outstanding care during cosmetic and reconstructive abdominoplasty and body sculpting procedures.
Traditional abdominoplasty takes a comprehensive approach toward improving body contours that, while undeniably effective, may be more than what’s needed to enhance the midsection for every patient. Dr. Campanile can perform a mini tummy tuck to help you look slimmer with less invasive surgery that still makes a big impact. A mini tummy tuck addresses several appearance concerns:
- Loose skin below the belly button line
- Lax muscle tone following pregnancy or weight loss
- Fatty deposits or excess tissue in the lower belly
The mini tummy tuck removes less skin than the full tummy tuck and leaves the belly button intact, yet still delivers the firmer contours associated with traditional abdominoplasty.
As with other tummy tuck procedures, Dr. Campanile begins by making an incision across the lower abdomen. Typically, this is a little lower and a little shorter than the incision that’s used for a full abdominoplasty. Next, excess skin and tissue is removed just from the section of the tummy between the belly button and the groin area. If needed, Dr. Campanile can also tighten the lower abdominal muscles using internal sutures. Finally, the skin is redraped and the incision is closed. In some cases, liposuction can be incorporated along with the mini tummy tuck for more comprehensive results.
Immediately after surgery, patients will notice some discomfort and soreness, especially when standing fully upright, as this pulls on the tummy muscles. Over-the-counter medication is often enough to help patients feel more comfortable, although Dr. Campanile can also prescribe something stronger if needed. It’s important to follow all postoperative instructions from Dr. Campanile, and to take it easy, allowing your body the rest you need for a full and healthy recovery.
You’ll notice some improvement in your body contours right away after your procedure, although swelling may initially disguise the results. Once your recovery is complete, your lower belly will look firm and smooth again, with improved muscle tone and a more distinct shape.
